The Fishing Trip
Ratua offers world class game fishing, from day charters, to week-long on board adventures. Access rare fishing grounds, pristine reef systems, underwater sea mounts, and remote volcanic islands. These trips also give you the opportunity to venture into local villages untouched by western influences.
The Experience
Located in the Vanuatu Archipelago, off the South East tip of Espiritu Santo, Ratua Island is only a 30-minute motorboat journey from the mainland on our own private motor launch.
It offers 146-acres to explore by electric buggy, bike, trek, horseback or boat. Most of the facilities and amenities are centrally located just a short walk south of the Yacht Club. Meals are served in the Yacht Club – the bar, lounge and dining room that is the social hub of Ratua – or at a long wooden table on the beach, with the sand between your toes and, at high tide, warm tropical water lapping at your ankles.
Your Lodging
The villas are 200-year-old teak cottages sourced from Java and Sumatra and opulently fitted out and furnished in Bali. In keeping with Ratua’s “zero plastic” policy, almost everything, inside and out, is made of local or recycled wood: from the boardwalks, the roof shingles and the rough-hewn planks on the walls and floors (even in the bathrooms) to the stylish cabinets concealing full-sized fridges and the handcrafted window shutters and latches.
Day Spa
Sunny Spa is Ratua`s overwater Spa and is located between the South and West Point Villages and features two private treatment rooms and an open lounge area with stunning views across the water. The specially trained spa staff are available to offer massages, reflexology, body scrubs, manicures and pedicures using only locally sourced organic products such as Tahiti Monoi and Vanilla of Malicolo, as well as lime, grapefruit, sweet orange and mango oils. The perfect way to unwind and relax into your holiday.
Your Vessel & Guide
Fishing Vanuatu onboard a fully equipped 34ft Deep Vee, a classic in gamefishing circles and synonymous with Vanuatu.
Your tournament winning skipper, Juannick Harris is experienced in a range of game and sportfishing, and has fished extensively throughout the Vanuatu islands.
Getting There
Espiritu Santo’s Luganville Airport is an hour’s flight by light aircraft from Port Vila. From here Ratua is just a 30-minute motorboat journey from Espiritu Santo airport by private launch which is included in the room rate.
A private plane from Port Vila direct to Ratua Islands own private runway is also available on special request.
