Turquoise Waters & Explosive Popper Fishing
Fish clear, shallow, productive waters inside the lagoon and try and stop the resident car bonnet-sized GT’s from burying your lure deep in the coral!
Outside the barrier reef anglers can jig, cast the outer breaks and chase big pelagics. This trip offers anglers the opportunity to fish two great locations, La Foa and Bourail.
This allows you to fish a range of different reef systems and angling situations maximising your chances at consistent action and big fish. This trip includes all tackle and meals, making it one of the most affordable GT popping adventures around.

New Caledonia's Big GT's & Sportfish
Fish inside the New Caledonian barrier reef using large poppers targeting big fish.
Fishing inside the turquoise lagoon can be absolutely spectacular.
GT’s up to 50kg are regularly encountered within these shallow
lagoon waters.
The visual experience of seeing a monster class GT engulfing your popper in crystal clear water is one that will stay with you long after the battle is over. Other popular species targeted on poppers include coral trout, yellowfin tuna, spanish mackerel and wahoo. If jigging is your thing then target a range of species including amberjack, yellowfin tuna, coral trout, green jobfish and red bass to name a few. Thankfully plenty of productive light tackle & soft plastics is on offer when your feeling broken.

Superb Angler Lodge Comforts
Ouano Fishing & Surf Camp.
Ouano offers comfortable beachfront cabin accommodation ideally suited to groups of anglers. After a tiring day spent battling monster GT’s, enjoy a dip at the camp’s pool, before a few beers at the tropical beach bar. Then settle in for a hearty home style meal, over a glass of French red wine or cold beer.
Nekweta Fishing & Surf Camp.
Nekweta is located in Bourail, an hours drive further north of Ouano and offers comfortable traditional island bungalow accommodation in a tropical setting. This family run retreat is superb, offering excellent hospitality, plus excellent food and wine, and is the perfect setting to relax after a day of full on fishing.

Customised Center Console Sportsfishers
Fish aboard a custom designed 25 foot centre console offering an excellent fishing platform for up to 3 anglers.
A second boat is available for larger groups. Tackle is provided on a replace-if-lost basis, including Saltiga Dogfight reels, custom Illex GT Rods and Orion Lures.
You will be hosted by internationally renowned guide Etienne Picquel.
Etienne and his teams knowledge of this unique fishery is excellent, as is the warm hospitality anglers receive during their stay. Our team caters for anglers of all skill level, from novice GT anglers to the most experienced.

Getting There
New Caledonia is a short 2.5 hour flight from Sydney, 1.45 hour flight from Brisbane and 3 hour flight from Auckland.
Air Calin, Qantas and Air New Zealand all offer daily flights to Noumea. Upon your arrival into Tountouta International Airport you will be met by an Ocean Blue representative and transferred north to your West Coast anglers lodge.
