Talk about being at the right spot at the right time!-Mark Armistead reports from NZ
Last week I headed offshore to a few good areas currently holding decent numbers of kings. During this trip I ran into some researchers doing kingfish breeding studies so that was an added insight into the Bay of Plenty fishery.
They needed to catch some live kingfish to take back for breeding purposes, I quickly nabbed 3 kingfish well over the metre mark (15kg) that they took back and are now swimming around in their research facility. Other news is this weekend we have the annual top catch jigging/casting competition. I am a major sponsor and backer of this tournament and will also be fishing in it.
This is one of the fastest growing competitions in the country when many other competitions are shrinking in size.
I am fishing the comp with my wife Helen and another good friend so we will enjoy ourselves.
