As New South Wales edges closer to to “FREEDOM DAY” there are still a lot of questions that have not been addressed for the large community of anglers that call NSW home. For over three months, the majority of the community has not been able to fish or spend a day out on the water. Let’s have a look at what “freedom day” means for residents of Sydney and New South Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the rules?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Monday the 11th of October 2021, the rules around recreational boating will change. All of NSW will be considered a “General Area”. In a “General Area” Recreational Boating (in any form paddle\/sail\/power) is allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Fully Vaccinated adults (anyone 16yrs & above)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

– The only limit to the number of people on a vessel is the allowable capacity on the vessels’ Australian Builders Plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For non-vaccinated adults (anyone 16yrs & above)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

– Are limited to one person or more if ALL from the same household.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are no distance rules, other than you must have a reasonable excuse to leave or enter the Greater Sydney Area. Boating is not a reasonable excuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
