When Wylie Nagler started Yellowfin <\/a>Yachts in 1998, his goal was to build a best-in-class offshore fishing boat that was fast and stable in rough waters. Yellowfin’s debut 31′ centre console was well received, and the company has never looked back. Like earlier Yellowfin boats, the new semi-custom 54′ flagship is solid and fast. But the Yellowfin 54 also offers space other centre consoles only dream about. Here’s what you need to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introducing the Yellowfin 54 Offshore<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yellowfin’s new 54′ flagship is a capable, stable offshore fishing platform that’s also comfortable and fast. The 15′ beam and Yellowfin’s proprietary twin-step hull make Yellowfin’s biggest centre console extremely stable, even in rough waters. Add a Seakeeper gyro<\/a> to ensure a smooth ride no matter the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The larger size means you and your fishing mates will have plenty of space to move around. Storage is tucked into every nook and cranny, including port and starboard side tackle drawers built into the hull, and rod holders and optional scuba tank racks under the gunwales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s midsection tackle storage built into the console under the second-row seating. There’s even storage space in the easy-to-access bilge area and more storage under the front row helm seating.<\/p>\n\n\n

Quad Mercury 450R outboards can power this fishing machine up to about 55 knots. But the 54 Offshore can go faster. Yellowfin says it can handle five outboards<\/a> and up to 2,400 HP. <\/p>\n\n\n

A Comfy, Efficient Fishing Boat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Like everything else on the Offshore 54, the centre console is generously sized. The air-conditioned helm can accommodate three 24″ multi-function displays. Above the helm is additional space for vessel view displays and fusion audio controls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cockpit’s front row offers four deluxe captains chairs with armrests and folding bolsters. A second-row radius bench seats four. It conceals an access hatch to the mechanics: generator, gyro, batteries, electrical systems, and additional storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A massive hardtop covers the centre console from helm to leaning post (more than 20′). Aft ladders on both sides allow easy access to an optional covered upper deck with a stand-up helm and bench seating for three. Three more seats mounted in front of the helm offer a completely unobstructed view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can have the leaning post customized to include a sink, grill, and refrigerator, along with a comfy lounge chair and trash bin. An insulated, chill-plate-cooled, 200-gallon transverse fish box is tucked into the deck just behind the leaning post.<\/p>\n\n\n
