This year brings some exciting news. January 2022 saw the release of DAIWA’s latest Certate SW models. The DAIWA Certate 5000 and 6000 SW have introduced the newest innovation in high-end reels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is New with the DAIWA Certate Reel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DAIWA Certate reels<\/a> have long been the gold standard for compact and robust spinning reel designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this latest addition to their range, you can have the same power and smooth reeling as the classic 20 Saltiga, but with a smaller size. Don’t let its size fool you; this powerful reel packs quite a punch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The product<\/a> was quietly released earlier this year in Japan and has since reached the foreign market, though stock is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monocoque body<\/strong> (MQ)<\/strong>: It eliminates the need for a two-piece body and side plate. Instead, the powerful screw-in engine delivers a better sealed and high-speed reeling in this new compact design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duralumin drive gear<\/strong>: The MQ body houses a G1 drive gear. With the MQ system, this means the same reel strength and water resistance without the need for a body cover. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zalon air rotary:<\/strong> The lightweight air rotary gives excellent responsiveness, whilst still being more than 40 grams lighter compared to the 20 Saltiga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magseal line roller and body<\/strong>: Combined with the MQ construction, you get ultimate protection from the elements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ATD drag<\/strong>: With automatic tournament drag, you get improved drag grease that responds to drag startup. This provides a smoother drag and initial hook up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DAIWA anti-reverse system brings the next level of sensitivity. It is activated with four times less force than a classic system. With less than 2g needed to engage the Reel Stopper system, it eliminates any handle movement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABS Long Cast Spool<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The reduced weight of the SW range appears again in the spool weight and shape. The benefit of the ABS is that it can increase flight distance compared to conventional spools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABS spools are tapered to limit the risks of tangling on the cast, in contrast to cylindrical spool designs. In addition, it has a slight lip to reduce friction and boost casting distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these new reels, you get the best advantages for light to medium lures and jigs. You also get the same durable MQ power and longevity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The larger gears fit inside despite the compact frame. Yet, you can still handle most inshore fish with the spool capacity and braid strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
