The Authority<\/a> is one of Penn’s most durable models to date, due to its IPX8 sealed body. The IPX (Ingress Protection System) is used to rate the degree of protection or sealing effectiveness against intrusion of objects, water and dust with 8 being the highest a product can rate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To achieve an IPX8 rating, a reel must withstand water ingress into the reel’s body, spool, or drag system at a depth of 1 metre for at least 30 minutes. This ultra-secure seal makes the Penn Authority one of the most durable reels on the market.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
