We had the privilege in hosting the Quinn & Greene family over the last few weeks. These anglers spent a week fishing Vanuatu from our anglers lodge, Trees and Fishes.
Each morning started off at 730am with anglers getting their cooked breakfast, coffee fix and double checking their gear for the day.
With anglers all onboard, the guides headed straight out to sea to explore our FAD’s where it often holds everything from yellowfin tuna, wahoo, bonito mahi mahi to marlin.
Excited at the sight of busting bait on the surface anglers started to cast poppers on the outside edges of these bait balls looking for the targeted species, yellowfin tuna. This was a non stop action for part of the days.
Ample of yellowfin tuna ranging from 15kg to 60kg broke the surface with the biggest fish of the week weighed in at 65kg landed on PE8. Other species landed included marlin, sailfish, GT and mahi mahi.
I am sure catching tuna on topwater will be one of the many memories these anglers will never forget!
