Trees and Fishes is literally on the doorstep of Vanuatu’s best blue water pelagic sportfishing grounds. Once leaving our base, within 10 minutes you will be targeting a range of blue water species including yellowfin tuna, wahoo, mahi mahi, sailfish and blue marlin. Fish canyons, volcanic islands, FAD’s and seamounts which aggregate all these blue water pelagics. Even better you also get to fish on the islands lee, making the fishing as comfortable as it is exciting.
Arrive in paradise and be met at the airport by our friendly team and transferred in our private bus for the leisurely 40 minute drive to our spectacular Trees and Fishes Angler’s Retreat. On a typical day we will have you out fishing after a gourmet breakfast and back to the lodge late afternoon for a well earned ale waiting for you back at the bar. Then sit down to a superb meal while enjoying the spectacular backdrop while discussing strategy in anticipation for your next day.
Fish with confidence – EdgeWater 32 Centre Console Sportfishers
We have three US built EdgeWater 32-foot Centre Console Sportfishers – the biggest of its class that can accommodate up to five anglers at a time. Not only are they big but also fast with 250hp Yamaha 4 Strokes that can get you to the grounds quickly, maximising your fishing each day. The EdgeWaters sea going capability allows a soft, comfortable ride that is unmatched. There are enough rod holders for your gear and ours.
Trees and Fishes Angler’s Retreat – A private piece of paradise
Trees and Fishes Anglers Retreat is our private and exclusive waterfront lodge right on the fishing grounds. The lodge offers well appointed, air-conditioned accommodation, each with their own private ensuite. The social hub and dining area located a few steps away from the private jetty is so laid back you can just unwind and get to know your new fishing mates and other guests. While our cascading 2 level pool adjacent to the bar offers the perfect place to cool down with a beer after a big day on the water.

We at Trees and Fishes take pride in our dining experience. Nothing beats sharing great food and stories with new friends. So when you stay with us, you will enjoy great cuisine. Your day will start with gourmet breakfasts fit for champions and end with a three course dinner each evening, complementing the relaxing atmosphere of our retreat. Our fish is freshly caught, our meats are organic and our fruit and vegetables are fresh. Each meal will be prepared by your host Angele, Jeanine and our local team. Paired with your gourmet dinners, we have Australian, New Zealand, French and Italian wines to choose from. We also offer a range of imported beers, cocktails and spirits.
Getting Here
To get to Vanuatu, we recommend choosing Air Vanuatu. Air Vanuatu has daily flight from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and New Caledonia. They have economy and business class available with inflight entertainment, bar service and meals. You can also get to fly on their state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
