With the Patriot Campers X3, the company has launched their first-ever “hybrid camper trailer.” The X3 is the first trailer that offers anglers an internal living space. You can set up the living area however you’d like, making it fully customizable for your needs.
The gel top mattresses are 100mm thick. The camper’s sleeping area has a zip-up cover that enables you to leave your bed made up as you get the camper set up and taken down.
You can also extend the lounge platform for an additional sleeping area. There is an option to add on a kid’s bunk bed area. Depending upon how you configure the sleeping area, you can fit three to four people comfortably in it.
In addition to sleeping and lounging areas, there’s the option for a pop-up coffee maker and access to the refrigerator from inside the trailer. If you don’t want the coffee maker, you can use the space for extra storage.
Cooking
When it comes to cooking on a trip away it generally consists of a fire and a rusty old hotplate. With the Patriot X3, there is a welcomed change as you drop the side of the trailer to reveal a fully kitted out kitchen along with a 75L fridge on a slide rail, grill, coffee machine and pantry.
Storage
Storage is essential when you’re headed out on a fishing trip. There’s a total of 2000L of storage space in the Patriot Camper X3. which is enough for everything you need to drag along for a comfortable and successful weekend away fishing.
It also comes equipped with integrated storage in the floor of the living area. There’s additional storage underneath the backrests and lounge seats. There’s also a wet storage space which is perfect for when you’re out fishing.
Tow Capacity
While extremely strong, Patriot Campers uses lightweight materials for their campers, including the X3. It has a tare weight of 1120kg. Additionally, it has a 40° departure angle and 500mm of ground clearance.
Power
Nothing better than a nice warm shower after a day out on the water or exploring. Use a diesel powered fuel heating system for the hot water and tent heating that comes standard in the trailer camper.
The power system also features two 150Ahr AGM gel batteries and a 1500W inverter system. You can also upgrade with lithium batteries and 80W solar panels. The camper also comes equipped with internal 240V power outlets.
Additionally, the camper comes equipped with a 4.5kg gas compartment that will run your bbq. If you don’t think that’s enough gas for your trip, there’s storage space for a second bottle.
Safety Features
Some of the safety features of the Patriot camper X3 include a HEXOCOREâ„¢ awning. The awning gives you 180° of coverage in the front and 270° of coverage at the back of the trailer. You’ll be protected from the sun, rain, and any other element that comes your way.
The awning poles are integrated into the fabric, making it easy to pull them out and slide them into place. The material is lightweight but 20% stronger than more canvas.
The awning also offers the following features:

The airbag suspension will keep your trailer level when you’re at the campsite. The fold-down support leg gives the trailer added durability and support as needed. The spare tire fits easily underneath the trailer, ensuring you have a backup whenever you need it.
Can the Patriot Campers X3 Handle Any Environment?
As we mentioned earlier, the X3’s awning is built to withstand any type of environment. Even if your fishing trip’s destination is completely off the grid, that’s no problem for the X3.
If you won’t be camping near a source of clean drinking water, that’s no problem with this off-road trailer. You can store water in the 55L and 75L poly tanks that come standard in the camper.
Rhino coating is applied for further protection for the roof section, stone guard, and other vulnerable parts of the trailer. You don’t have to worry about any rocks or stones damaging your trailer as you take it off-road .
Off-Road Capability
It also comes equipped with an independent suspension that keeps the camper stable and balanced no matter what the terrain is. It also features a superior dual shock suspension that helps prevent shock fade over rough and long trips, prolonging the life of your suspension.
Since the X3 has a low TARE and is balanced well, any twists, turns, or hills you experience while towing the trailer won’t be any problem. The DO35 hitch gives you a 360° full range of motion, making off-roading a snap.
