About Ocean Blue

For over 25 years Ocean Blue have guided thousands of anglers on sport fishing experiences throughout the pacific islands and Asia. Through our digital platform we have gathered as like-minded individuals to share the same passion and diverse real life experiences and knowledge about everything sport fishing and the great outdoors. We believe that it is in sharing our passions, we empower each other in taking action towards meaningful relationships and connections. If you are a driven individual who seeks to bring forth the same values, join us in sharing your exciting and rewarding journey.

Our Audience

Despite having a very specific niche audience, our followers have grown from hard core seasoned anglers to a dynamic group of weekend adventurers, casual anglers, boaters, campers, nomads, travellers, hobbyists and outdoor enthusiasts. As we continue to grow our platform, we look forward to sharing more of our and your outdoor adventures to the world.

Our Content

We welcome inspirational posts that will get readers excited about sport fishing and the great outdoors. We'd love to hear about your latest fishing adventures or escapades (funny and interesting anecdotes work too!). Honest reviews, and practical tips and guides are also welcome.

What can I write about?

Fresh Fish

Whether you are on the hunt for billfish or bass, then this column offers a rich inventory of must-know or how-to information from “the field.” Share your experiences about where, how and why you target your favourite sport fish.

Gear

Take a deeper look at up-and-coming and new fishing gear and technologies: how they work, what problems they address, and how they’ll impact the fishing experience. Focus on new devices, applications, or tools that have not been covered extensively, yet you think will significantly boost audience knowledge.

Boats

Share your boating experiences, why you chose your vessel, what makes it great or not so! How to’s, tips, reviews on new boating products, electronics and equipment are all welcome.

Travel

Take us with you. Share your best-kept secrets and awesome destinations you've been to. You may also share all the great things the travel universe has offered up to you. A down-to-Earth anecdotal writing style is key — but make sure you add in the details to balance your story.

Lifestyle

Intertwines personal life experience with the best of outdoor adventures. Can be first or third person, so long as the anecdotal narrative is fishing/outdoor-related.

Entertainment

Compelling characters paired with strong storytelling. As long as it stirs curiosity, humour, inspiration or intrigue that even the most seasoned anglers or enthusiasts can appreciate, then it's good to go. Just don't forget that you have a niche audience as your reader. If you can include photos and videos, it's better.

Outdoors

Nature, weather, flora, fauna, fish! This is where you can explore any topic from “the field” so to speak. Tell us everything there is to know, alright?

Review

Take an even deeper look at everything fishing related. Telling what you like, what you dislike, how they impacted your experience and where to get them should be useful knowledge for all.

How to

Walk us through the twists and turns of sport fishing with the flair of storytelling. Let us and our audience peer over that angler shoulder of yours for some useful and practical tips.

Features

Share compelling stories on characters, grounded or even remotely related to fishing. Anything fishing related that stirs curiosity, inspiration or intrigue should work. Q&As should work too, just don't forget to get personal and answer the questions: What about them is compelling? What’s their backstory? Why should our audience care?
