What is the Fishers for Habitat Forum?

The Fishers for fish habitat forum partnered with OZFISH, hosted by Michael Guest from Reel Action Fishing TV and Podcast. The premise of the partnership is to encourage the angling community as a whole to “Take Action” and play a crucial role in practicing sustainability and preserving the environment in which we fish.

OZFISH in partnership with Campbelltown City Council collected eDNA samples from the the Georges River showed the presence of platypus and the endangered Macquarie Perch.

“The Fishers for Fish Habitat forum is an opportunity for recreational fishers to gain the latest information in fish habitat rehabilitation and fisheries science, and to directly engage with other likeminded anglers, fisheries managers, and fisheries scientists.”

Ryan Lungu, OzFish Program Manager for NSW
