Is the 2021 Shimano Ocea Jigger the Real Deal?

When it comes to setting yourself up for slow jigging, getting the right reel is integral for success. Over the years, Shimano has been a top choice for anglers. It comes as no surprise the Ocea Jigger range has become a popular reel for slow jigging.

The Ocea Jigger series have always been at the forefront of cutting edge technology. It features Micromodule Gear, Hagane Body and X-Protect giving you a smooth reeling motion as well as an extra-strong reel body that can endure the harsh saltwater environment.

New and Improved

MICROMODULE

By recreating the shape of the teeth on the internal gearing, Shimano have created one of the smoothest overhead reels on the market, without sacrificing strength or durability.

HAGANE BODY

The Hagane Body made from high rigidity aluminium and magnesium, stops any flexing of the reel body to make it 100% waterproof and impact resistant for those heavy-handed anglers.

INFINITY DRIVE

Infinity drive was introduced to the Ocea Jigger range to create a more powerful crank with each turn of the handle. By doing this it has decreased rotational resistance by up to 60%.

S COMPACT BODY

Compact body design reduces weight and allows for the reel to sit snugly in your palm even with the 4000 version.

E.I. SURFACE TREATMENT

E.I Surface treatment doubles the durability of the spool surface by eliminating oxidation.

EXCITING DRAG SOUND

Out with old and in with the new! Shimano has recreated the sound of your drag whilst you are hooked up to a big fish.

Shimano Ocea Jigger: Lighter and Smoother Cranking

The new Shimano Ocea Jigger reels take up where the 2017 model left off and improved the cranking power. The new models maintain strength and durability while offering a lighter and smoother cranking mechanism.

The rotational resistance has been reduced by 60% less than the 2017 model because it uses an Infinity Drive and a long crank handle.
