Seas the Day with the Yellowfin 54

When Wylie Nagler started Yellowfin Yachts in 1998, his goal was to build a best-in-class offshore fishing boat that was fast and stable in rough waters. Yellowfin’s debut 31′ centre console was well received, and the company has never looked back. Like earlier Yellowfin boats, the new semi-custom 54′ flagship is solid and fast. But the Yellowfin 54 also offers space other centre consoles only dream about. Here’s what you need to know.

Introducing the Yellowfin 54 Offshore

Yellowfin’s new 54′ flagship is a capable, stable offshore fishing platform that’s also comfortable and fast. The 15′ beam and Yellowfin’s proprietary twin-step hull make Yellowfin’s biggest centre console extremely stable, even in rough waters. Add a Seakeeper gyro to ensure a smooth ride no matter the weather.

The larger size means you and your fishing mates will have plenty of space to move around. Storage is tucked into every nook and cranny, including port and starboard side tackle drawers built into the hull, and rod holders and optional scuba tank racks under the gunwales.

There’s midsection tackle storage built into the console under the second-row seating. There’s even storage space in the easy-to-access bilge area and more storage under the front row helm seating.

Double- Row-Seating

Quad Mercury 450R outboards can power this fishing machine up to about 55 knots. But the 54 Offshore can go faster. Yellowfin says it can handle five outboards and up to 2,400 HP.

A Comfy, Efficient Fishing Boat

Like everything else on the Offshore 54, the centre console is generously sized. The air-conditioned helm can accommodate three 24″ multi-function displays. Above the helm is additional space for vessel view displays and fusion audio controls.

The cockpit’s front row offers four deluxe captains chairs with armrests and folding bolsters. A second-row radius bench seats four. It conceals an access hatch to the mechanics: generator, gyro, batteries, electrical systems, and additional storage.

A massive hardtop covers the centre console from helm to leaning post (more than 20′). Aft ladders on both sides allow easy access to an optional covered upper deck with a stand-up helm and bench seating for three. Three more seats mounted in front of the helm offer a completely unobstructed view.

You can have the leaning post customized to include a sink, grill, and refrigerator, along with a comfy lounge chair and trash bin. An insulated, chill-plate-cooled, 200-gallon transverse fish box is tucked into the deck just behind the leaning post.

Yellowfin 54 Specs

There’s a lot to like about Yellowfin’s new flagship centre console. That includes some nice standard features like the diesel generator and a side door that slides under the gunwale and out of the way. Here are the specs:

  • LOA: 54′
  • Beam: 15′
  • Fuel capacity: 900 gallons
  • Freshwater capacity: 90 gallons
  • Approx. weight 27,000 lbs (35,000 with a full fuel load)
  • Max HP: 2,400 (that’s quad Mercury 600HP V12s or quint Mercury Racing 450Rs
  • Aft livewell capacity: 150 gallons (or split into two 75 gallon wells)
  • Anchor: windlass barrel system

Storage space is one of the key features of this fishing boat—it’s everywhere! That includes an extra-large bow deck storage box (with drain).

Spacious Comfort Above and Below Deck

Bow to stern, the Yellowfin 54 is an angler’s dreamboat. The bow lounger seats three with fold-away armrests and cupholders. There are forward bench seats with backrests. A bow table raises and lowers to create extra seating or a cushioned sunbed.

Since the Yellowfin 54 Offshore is a semi-custom fishing boat, you can add the features you want. Add tuna tubes, Gemlux carbon fibre outriggers, and JVC speakers on every surface.

Below deck, it’s just as impressive. The air-conditioned cabin offers stylish teak accents and an efficient galley with a sink, stovetop, and refrigerator. The large dining area converts into a berth for two. Access to the spacious mechanical room is tucked beneath the bench.

With extra size comes extra creature comforts. There’s a private, stand-up head and shower with a small hand sink. And remarkably, the Yellowfin 54′ offers a separate, private bedroom with closets, a queen-sized berth, and plenty of headroom too.

Yellowfin 54 Available Now

The prototype Yellowfin 54 debuted in early 2021. A tweaked new design (dubbed hull #2) came out last summer and is available to order now.

Although the price of the highly customizable 54 Offshore will vary based on the options you choose, they start at about $1.4 million (USD). That’s very competitive for a console fishing boat of this size and class.
